Getting What’s Inside Out

There are times when I don’t understand what’s going on inside of me until it comes out through my hands.

Inclusion doesn’t mean Jews. I’m on my own when I’m on the NMSU campus. Being on the receiving end of two hate crimes and the campus police refused to help taught me that I’m on my own. That’s why I’m always armed when I’m on campus.

Renee Goode lived for 8 minutes after she was shot by ICE fascists. Although there was a doctor present, the fascists refused to let the doctor help Renee.

“Are you all right?” were the last words Alex Pretti spoke before being murdered by ICE fascists for daring to try to help someone.

Both quilts need to be squared up and bound.

I’ve been having more sales in my Spoonflower shop which is here: https://www.spoonflower.com/profiles/deb_thuman

Learning the Smart Telescope

I wanted to shoot the eclipse. I have insomnia and sometime between 1-2 AM I go to bed. I needed to go outside at 2:30 so I could prepare for shooting the eclipse that started at 2:50. I couldn’t manage to take a nap before I went outside. Fortunately, it was cold enough that I had no trouble staying awake until after 4 AM.

The smart telescope has to focus on a star – any star – to orient itself. This is good. Not so smart telescopes have to be oriented to the North Star. This far south, the North Star isn’t in the middle of the sky, it’s more toward the horizon. There’s a mountain between me and the North Star.

I got the telescope oriented and focused on the moon. As long as the telescope could “see” the moon, the telescope tracked the moon. Once about 3/4 of the moon was covered in shadow, the telescope stopped tracking. I had hoped I could get the sort of red coloring the moon had, but not with the telescope.

Almost full moon shot a few days before the eclipse.

I had to shoot in RAW to get this shot with my Canon 90D.

Noisy as all get out, and I shot hand held. I didn’t feel like having a second tripod outside.

I’ve been selling quite a few of my Spoonflower designs. The latest sale was for wallpaper. After I saw which design the customer bought, I was sorry I couldn’t see how the wallpaper looked in a room because it was a particularly happy design.
